9/14 -- The Morocco Adventure Starts -- sort of.

Sunday dawned bright and sunny, a welcome change from yesterday's rain. We finished our packing and hung out with the kids while Dan and Diane had an unplanned adventure that took them away from home. Fortunately, the plan included Dan's return in time for his airport transportation duties.

I ran some errands while Jim wrangled the kids then we all took the dog for a walk and Dan returned just after we did. Despite a couple traffic delays, we got to the airport early to discover the plane was not delayed the 20 minutes we had been alerted to but for FOUR HOURS.

The airline gave us $30 in food vouchers and we  headed off to find dinner and recharge my phone. There was nothing in the vicinity of our gate so we ended up in another wing of the terminal.

My phone was finally charged about 5 minutes after our original departure time and we headed to our gate and a state of mild panic.... Our flight was no longer listed on the board and there was no evidence of Royal Air Maroc anywhere. After several phone calls and appeals to various airport staff we were able to confirm we had not missed our flight, but that it might leave up to an hour before the 11pm departure we were told of at the gate.

Whew! We are now relaxing at the proper gate, hoping we get to leave tonight.
